"Echoes of the Past" by Nostalgia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Requirements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Processor: 386, 486 recommanded
Graphics: fast, standard color VGA compatible graphics card, preferably no
local bus
Memory: 400 Kb free without music, 560 Kb free with music
Music: Gravis UltraSound (GUS) with at least 512 Kb of on-board memory
Diskspace: about 1.4 Mb free, no temporary space needed
Command Line Parameters:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ECHOES #n, where n is the part number:
1 - starwars scroller (default)
2 - rotating logo
3 - moving stars + tunnels
4 - 3d stuff
5 - Phantom's 3d world
6 - voxel space
7 - bouncing balls
8 - credits & greetings
9 - end ANSI
When starting with parts 3-7, the music starts at a different position than
when starting with part 2 (parts 1 and 8 have their own music score). If you
have a fast computer and the music hasn't finished playing when you reach part
8, you can hear the rest of the music by starting from a different part, e.g.
3.
Keys During Play:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
<Esc> - skip to next part
<Ctrl><Esc> - quit to DOS
Know Bugs:
~~~~~~~~~
There are a few known bugs we haven't repaired (for various reasons):
- when going down, the triangle in Phantom's world produces a little red
flicker at the end
- the end scroll (and sometimes other parts) flickers sometimes, i.e.
synchronisation seems to fail (any ideas to a solution are welcome!)
- within some parts, when pressing <Ctrl><Esc> there is a flicker between
fading out and the fading in of the ANSI picture
If you find any other bugs than these, please report them to Nostalgia. See
NOSTALGI.NFO on how to contact us.
